This small country offers numerous things including views of mighty Himalayas, dazzling rivers, thrilling natural beauty, cultural richness and religious harmony.

You can enjoy your activities doing cultural tours, trekking, rafting, summitting the peaks and even doing jungle safari on the back of elephant.

However, it is a developing country. There can be numbers of factors which may create health issues. So, you need to be careful while eating, drinking, and travelling.

The given tips will be helpful while travelling Nepal.

  • Visa and Permits

Visa for staying Nepal is arranged at the immigration headquarter in Kathmandu airstrip. For this you need to have a passport having at least six months validity. Usually visas are granted ranging from 15 days to 90 days costing the fees $25 to $100.

Trekking Information Management System (TIMS) is a permit for trekking in Nepal. Your travel agencies or Nepal Tourism Board will help to get such permits. For this you need to have Travel insurance compulsorily.

  • Drinking water

You need to check water properly before drinking it because it may cause problem if you drink carelessly. It may be unsafe drinking water from tap. You can buy sealed bottled water therearound.

As you are trekking in remote areas, you need to drink water from streams and taps. In this circumstance you have to add some water purification tablets to make it safer to drink. There are some purification places as well but carrying some water purification tablets makes you safer.

  • Healthcare

Due to the pollution, dusty roads, smoke and construction may create challenges in Nepal especially in Kathmandu. You can avoid this situation wearing masks while travelling the city.

It is suggested to bring some health care gears such as hand sanitizer, sun-block cream, tissue paper, some antibiotics, masks first add box and so on. These can be bought in the Pharmacies of the major cities but if you are trekking, you need to carry them because they are unavailable on the way.

  • Sanitation

This is another tip for travelling in Nepal because Some of the hotels and teahouses do not have flushes as well as toilet paper. You are suggested to bring hand sanitizer, toilet paper and wet wipes especially when you are planning to trek. In the high altitude, the water in the toilet gets frozen and adds the challenges again.

For example, if you are travelling the plains of Nepal, you can trudge with thin clothes as well but if you are trekking in the Himalayas, you need thick ones at the same time.

There are several shops around your hotel and Thamel which provide the clothes according to your need.
